Early in the morning of October 5th of 1995 my mother gave birth to me in the Saginaw Covenant Hospital. My father was waiting eagerly with my brother right outside. My parent’s names are Mark and Lori and my brother is named Derek. I ended up with the name Nolan. I was brought home the next week to the same house I reside in today.
It’s hard to remember a time when I wasn’t hanging out with my brother. I always begged to do things with him. If he was going out to build a fort, I was too; if he was going to play street hockey, I was too. I didn’t establish my own group of friends until the first grade. My best childhood friend was Dylan. Dylan and I spent countless hours outside and continued the same active lifestyle I had when I was tagging along with my brother.
By the end of my single digit years, I had joined many sports. These sports include soccer, hockey, and baseball. I still play soccer and hockey religiously to this day. Some of my other hobbies include technology, juggling, and engineering. Engineering is by far my most favorite hobby, and I hope to have a career in that field someday.
For work right now however, I am employed at O’Connors of East Tawas. When I’m not there I’m most likely helping my father with his lawn business. I work close to 15 hours a week during the school year and about 35 during the week in the summer. I appreciate both jobs very much, but someday I hope to move on to bigger and better things.
Currently, I am Tawas Area High School. I have a 4.0 GPA and am taking 3 AP courses in Biology, Calculus, and English. I’m in the National Honor Society and the Tawas Area Spanish Club. I can’t wait for graduation in June. I hope to move on to Grand Valley State University after graduation. There I would like to study electrical engineering. I’m very hopeful and confident in my future.
